Charles Berry

Charles H. Berry “Charlie”, 75, of Wooster, died Thursday, January 12, 2012 at his residence. His spirit arrived in Heaven and joined his first wife, Grace’s spirit on her birthday.



Friends may call one hour prior at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster.Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Dan Sanders officiating.Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Charlie was born March 30, 1936 in Wooster to Harvey and Alice {Ray} Berry.



He married Grace Brinker on July 2, 1955.She preceded him in death on February 6, 1986. Charlie married Barbara A. Nussbaum on May 25, 1990.



He retired in 1998 from Wooster Products Inc. He was a member of the Church of Christ, Burbank Road. He was an avid sports fan who loved to watch his Cleveland teams on television and the Triway Titans and Northwestern Huskies throughout his grandchildren’s school years. He was a talented bowler and fisherman and had wonderful memories of his time doing both with his son and grandsons. He was so proud of his family and loved to spend time with them all.



Charlie will be deeply missed by his wife Barbara; children Charles “Chuck” (Paula) Berry and Barbara (Bruce) Polen, both of Wooster; step-children Michael (Sandie) Nussbaum of Woodland Park, Colorado, Jeffrey (Hope) Nussbaum, Sherrie (Dan) Rettig, Judy Nussbaum (Scott Baker), all of Wooster; grandchildren Aaron Berry, Patrick Gordon, Garrett and Sawyer Polen; step-grandchildren; Eric, Aaron, Chad, Jason, Kyle, and Roxanne Nussbaum, Kisha Musselman, Sheena Moran, and Ricky Rettig; 5 great-grandchildren; and 12 step-great-grandchildren. Grampy will be missed greatly by all of them. Sisters Betty Barker, Virginia Wiebe, and Helen Lewis.



Charlie was preceded in death by his brothers Archie, Bob, and Bill Kurtz; sisters Ruth Sigler, Pearl Wertz, Viola Aldrich and Carmen Berry.
