Charles Severance

December 27, 1946 — November 12, 2011

Charles (Chuck) Allard Severance, 64, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2011 after a short and courageous battle with lung cancer. Chuck was born in Watertown, New York on December 27, 1946 and was a lifelong resident of Medina County. He graduated from Wadsworth High School in 1966 and served in the 101 st Airborne Division of the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and The Bronze Star Medal. Chuck was part owner of C & C Fur for many years and retired this year from Owens Corning. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, Ohio State and Browns fan and loved sharing this passion with his family and friends. Even as he fought cancer this fall, he managed to hunt and get a deer. In the summer his pool was always open to family, friends and neighbors and he loved nothing more than to have it full of people. He will always be remembered for his infectious laugh.



He is survived by his wife Sandy, his son Charlie (Jennifer) of Caldwell, Idaho, daughter Colleen (Scott) Connelly of Modesto, California, step children Cindy, Terry and Dawn. Mother Lauretta Severance, sisters and brother in laws Paul and Charlene Darst, Cheryl and Glenn Leib, Maris and Red Dilinger; brothers Bill and Ted Severance, brothers in law Roger and Jim, his beloved grandchildren Collin, Alexa, Keiana, Allison, Jason, Trevor, Karly, Charles Lee (Samantha), Cassie, Kyle, David, Bryan, great grandchildren Matthew and Chelsie and many nieces, nephews and cousins. His father, Curt Severance, grandson Chase and first wife Carol Crawford Severance preceded him in death.



Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 10:00 am at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel in Seville with Pastor Jim Singleton officiating. Friends may call on Monday from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. Online tributes may be made at www.robertsfuneralhome.com .
