David Pyers, 94, of Wooster died Thursday, September 25, 2008 at West View Manor in Wooster.Private services will be held at a later date.Burial will be at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster is handling the arrangements. David was born December 10, 1913 in Crooksville, Ohio to Donald A. and Carrie O. (Holopeter) Pyers. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII in the European Theatre.He married
Eleanor May Chase on February 2, 1941.
He worked in Union City, Ohio for Peter Kuntz Lumber Co. for 40 year’s, retiring in 1976.He attended Grace Brethren Church and was a life member of the Kiwanis Club.He enjoyed walking at the Gault Recreation and Fitness Center, being a door greeter at Wooster Christian School, and volunteering at Grace Brethren Church.
David will be deeply missed by his son James (Pam) Pyers of Wooster and daughter-in-law Brady Pyers of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, 5 grandchildren and their spouses and 3 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, David was preceded in death by his son David J. Pyers, an infant sister and a brother George Pyers.
