Diane Farnsworth

May 11, 1932 — November 9, 2016

Diane Farnsworth, 84, of West Salem, died Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Liberty Residence, in Wadsworth. Although a new resident, Diane touched many hearts at the facility with her perpetual smile and deep appreciation for her caregivers, during her recent illness. She was surrounded by her loving family as she made her journey to become a real angel.
Diane was born May 11, 1932 in Bradford, Pennsylvania to Francis and Esther Scalfaro. She has two younger siblings—Judith (Roger) Conlin of Tallahassee, FL and Douglas (Sam) Scalfaro of Millersburg.
She married Max Farnsworth, her soulmate of many years, on June 3, 1995. Together their blended family tree bloomed with love and laughter.
Throughout her life Diane was known for her beautiful soul and her generous manner. She was a stay-at-home mother to four daughters while fostering multiple newborns who awaited adoption. Diane was very attentive to those who couldn't care for themselves by delivering Meal-on-Wheels. She delighted in preparing elaborate Sunday meals for her friends and family. Diane fed the birds, planted beautiful flower gardens and taught us all how to nurture a perfect stranger.
Diane will be deeply missed by her husband Max; daughters Tammy Remington of New York, Melissa (Rod) Hooper of Lodi, Kelly (Chris) Bohl of Lafayette, Jody (Amanda) Remington of Cleveland; grandchildren Jackie, Tina, Jon and Cecelia; great-grandchildren Elizabeth, Tristen, Mason, Hailey, Hayden and Payton.
Friends may call Monday, November 14th from 3 to 6 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Seville. Services will be held Tuesday, November 15th at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Les Long officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens at a later date. Diane's services will conclude with a special celebration of her life at the Lodi American Legion. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Western Reserve at 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110.
