Dorothy Carter

Dorothy Jean Carter, 63, of Ashland, died Thursday, July 27, 2006, at her residence.

Born March 16, 1943, in Zanesville, she was the daughter of Andrew and Marge Snelling Arnold.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother and hard worker. She had worked at F.E. Myers and Rubbermaid for 23 years. She was a union officer for Local 302.

Mrs. Carter was a member of Hayesville United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Norwayne High School in Creston. She enjoyed bowling, golfing and crafts.

She was married Feb. 21, 1970, to Chester L. Carter, who survives.

Also surviving are four daughters, Bobbie Donati of Pennsylvania, Mary Griffin of Orrville, Cindy Carter Yoho of Apple Creek and Denise Carter of Wooster; one son, Larry Carter of Strongsville; 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are her mother, Marge Lohrman of Florida; her stepmother, Gwen Arnold of Wooster; her mother-in-law, Laura Anderson of Apple Creek; three sisters, Pat Brennan of Florida, Paula Coffey of Millersburg and Janet Yost of Arizona; one brother-in-law, Don Carter of Apple Creek; and two sisters-in-law, Sandy Burgett of Ashland and Marylin Craword of Apple Creek.

Her father, Andrew Arnold; and her stepfather, Chuck Lohrman, preceded her in death.

Private family services will be Monday, July 31, 2006, at Roberts Funeral Home, 1058 US 250 North, Ashland, with Pastor Wendy Guion officiating. Burial will be in Ashland County Memorial Park.

Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 30, 2006, at the funeral home.
