Harold Taggart

Harold Wayne Taggart, 79, of Wooster, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Shady Lawn Health Care Community in Dalton, after a short battle with cancer. Services will be Saturday, June 27 at 2:00 P.M. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster with Pastor Eric Fairhurst officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Harold was born on June 21,1930 in Wooster to Oscar and Mabel (Messner) Taggart. He served in the U.S. Army. He married Helen Yockey on September 7, 1949. Harold worked at Timken Company in Wooster for eight years. In 1958 he opened his own business, Wayne Home Improvement, which he lost in the 1969 flood. He then started Tags Termite Control that has now been in operation for 40 years. Many will remember him for his live termite display at the Wayne County Fair.

Following retirement, Harold enjoyed setting up flea markets, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Harold will be deeply missed by his wife and sons David and Jenny of Shreve, Rick and Becky of Loudonville, and Larry of Texas; six grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Paul.
