Jonathan Layner, 65, of Marietta, died Friday, March 20, 2015 at his residence.
Jon was born July 12, 1949 in Parkersburg, WV to Ward and Nina {Dixon} Layner.
He attended Warren High School and Bob Jones University.
He was an assistant pastor and music director at Marietta Bible Center as well as a professor at Marietta Bible College.
Jon will be deeply missed by his nieces Rebekah (Cedric) Lane and Laura (Thomas) Schimmeyer; nephews Richard (Alyssa) Munson and Austin Moore; grand nieces Melanie and Rowan; grand nephew Isaiah; and his aunt Mary Allen.
Jon was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Clifford; sisters Nancy Munson and Betsy Moore; and grand nephew Cameron.
Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-East Lawn Chapel, 27880 St. Rt. 7, Marietta. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Marietta Bible Center Church, 4070 State Route 60, Marietta, with Pastor Myron Guiler officiating. Burial will be at Decatur Township Cemetery.
