Joseph Puglisi, 89, of Wadsworth, died Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at Altercare of Wadsworth.
Joseph was born March 28, 1920 in Italy to Salvatore A. and Josephine (Raccuia) Puglisi.
He married Esther Detwiler on December 7, 1946. She survives.
Joseph was in the marching band at Wadsworth High School where he graduated in 1938. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force for the duration of WWII in Panama.Joseph is a member of the Seville United Methodist Church.He worked for the Ohio Injector Company from 1940-1982.After 42 years of service, he retired.Joseph loved gardening and cooking.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Esther of 62 years; children:Jo Leatherman of Wadsworth, Salvatore (Debbie) of Barberton, Esther Maria (Dan) Miller of Wadsworth; grandchildren:Ben and Martin Leatherman, Michele Perry, Paul Joseph and Anna Marie Puglisi, Tim and Jason Miller; and several great-grandchildren; brother:John T. Puglisi Sr. of Wadsworth.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, brother Anthony Puglisi and sister Mary Jo Huff.
Funeral services will be Friday, December 4, 2009 at 2 P.M. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Wadsworth, with Rev. Jim Woodring officiating.Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held.Friends may call from 12:30-2 P. M. at the funeral home.
