Lillian Gillispie of Apple Creek, died Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Wooster Community Hospital surrounded by her family. Friends may call Friday from noon to 1:00pm at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will be at 1:00pm at the funeral home with Father Stephen Moran officiating. Entombment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.

Lillian was born April 22, 1920 in McWhorter, West Virginia to John and Catherine (Haputa) Matish. She graduated from Lost Creek High School in 1938.
Lillian married Dana Gillispie on June 25, 1941. He passed away July 19, 2004.
She worked as a secretary at Rubbermaid, Borg Warner and Cardinal Vending all in Wooster. Previously to that she was employed by the U. S. Postal service in West Virginia. She loved to cook and she collected cookbooks and Avon.
Lillian will be deeply missed by her son Rod (Missy) of Jeromesville, grandchildren Roddy Gillispie, Tom (Sue) Gillispie, Dick (Kathy) Gillispie, Kathy (Dale) Evans, Karen (Jim) LaCoste and Krissy (Shawn) Scott, 19 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband Dana, 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
The family would like to thank the neighbors who assisted Lillian in her later years.
