Linda McNeil

February 19, 1951 — July 24, 2016

After a brave and courageous 4 year battle with Multiple Myeloma, Linda McNeil, 65, of Wooster, passed away comfortably into the arms of Jesus at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Friends may call Tuesday from 3 to 6 pm at Roberts Funeral Home - Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Services will be held Wednesday, July 27 at 11am at the funeral home with close family friend Fred Seling officiating, where military rites will be held. Per her wish, her body will be donated to The Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine to aid in research focused on finding a cure for Multiple Myeloma. No burial services will be held after the funeral, as there will be a private service for the family once she returns home.

Linda was born the youngest of 5 children February 19. 1951 in Wooster, Ohio to Harold and Alma {Webb} Picking. She spent her childhood working at her family's candy store Dari-Land and her summers at her family's cabin on Charles Mill Lake in Mifflin. She graduated from Wooster High School in 1969, went on to attend Ohio University until deciding to join the US Navy during the Vietnam War. She met her loving husband of 40 years, Ken McNeil while they were both stationed at Naval Air Station Meridian, Mississippi. They were married on January 29, 1977. He survives.
She worked for the College of Wooster in the IT department for many years, before retiring in 2009.
She enjoyed entering her various knitting and sewing projects into the Wayne County fair. She loved to garden and read. She looked forward to spending her evenings watching movies with her grandchildren. Her favorite thing of all, was sitting on her front porch with her family, her two cats, and a hot cup of Chai tea.
Linda will be deeply missed by her husband Ken; her children Marie (Peter) Hughes III of Lavante, Maine, Chuck McNeil of Jackson, Mississippi, Marcie (Ricky Joles) Dillon of Meridian, Mississippi, Tony (Kim) McNeil, Joe (Elizabeth) McNeil, and Sarah (Clay) Glaspell, all of Wooster.; her grandchildren Amanda (Justin) McDevitt, BJ Francis, Matt Francis, Chris Wardwell, Alyssa (Joey) Thacker, Emily McNeil, Gloria Dillon, Kayla Dillon, Noah Joles, Gabe Joles, Katelin McNeil, Hannah McNeil, Madelin McNeil, Mackenzie McNeil; and her great grandchildren Mackenna McDevitt, Emily McDevitt, Sammy McDevitt, Hudson Thacker, Adleigh Dillon. Also surviving are her loving siblings, Carol (Gary) Miller, Larry Picking, and Dave (Jane) Picking.
She is preceeded in death by her parents, her sister Joanne Mongeau, and her brother in law Al Mongeau.
