Maxine O. Webster, 88, of Wooster died Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at West View Manor.Services will be Friday December 3, at 11am the Roberts Funeral Home- Sherwood Chapel Wooster with Pastors Robert Fetterhoff and Eric Fairhurst officiating.Friends may call one hour prior to the service.Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster.Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com . Maxine was born April 20, 1922 in Ashland to Harlow and Lela {Baker} Kutz.She married Russell Webster on December 9, 1939. He survives.


Maxine was the first Dietician at West View Manor when it opened, making meals from scratch for 50 residents. She retired from the Standard Oil office on Palmer St. She accepted the Lord as her savior in 1943 and was an active member of the Grace Brethren Church having taught Sunday school, Bible School, and was a member of the Womens Missionary Group. Maxine was well known for her cooking and entertaining until 3 years ago when she moved into assisted living. She would bake up to 6 pies a week and give them all away. She also loved to take homemade treats to the residents at West View Manor. She enjoyed reading and golfing in the Ladies Senior Golf League at the College of Wooster. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.


In addition to her husband of 70 years Russell, Maxine will be deeply missed by her children Patricia Simms of Apple Creek and Jim (Cindy) Webster of Orrville; six grandchildren Scott (Cathy) Simms Mark (Mindy) Simms, Jeff (Krista) Simms, Katie Webster, Robb Webster, Erin (Peter) Downman, eight great-grandchildren and a brother Kenneth Kutz of Knoxville, TN.


Maxine was preceded in death by children David, Donald, Daniel, and John Paul Webster, son-in-law Marlin Simms, and a sister Rosemarie Craig.
