Miriam Bates

Miriam E. Bates, 87 of Polk passed away Monday afternoon Dec. 8, 2008 in Wooster Subacute following a brief illness.

Miriam retired from Eagle Rubber Company after 32 years of service.

She was born July 9, 1921 in Ashland to Herbert and Maude (Budd) Flickinger. On May 15, 1942 she married Robert C. Bates. She will be deeply missed by her daughter Rosella Rose of Polk, Grandchildren Darrin & (Renee) Rose of Ashland, Teresa & (Bryan) Wallace of Polk, and great-grandchildren Jacob and Ashley Rose-Wallace both of Polk. Grand-daughter-in-law Robin Rose of Oviedo, Florida. One brother, Raymond Flickinger of Loudonville and one sister Helen Kamp of Ashland. A companion of 20 years Emery (Buck) Russell. Her husband Robert C. Bateswho passed away in 1986 precedes her in death. Her grandson Russell R. Rose in 1992 and her son-in-law Garmon Rose earlier this year. Her brothers Virgil andDonald Flickinger, and sisters Eleanor Mowrey, Regina Myers, Doris Shearer, Ruth Mc Manamay, and Bernice Long. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home – Ashland Chapel 1058 US 250 W., Ashland.Funeral services will be Thursday December 11, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.
