Patricia Shipe

November 7, 1940 — June 13, 2012

On June 13, 2012, Patricia Sigler Shipe, age 71, of Wadsworth Township, was called to the Lord. Pat was a gentle soul that dedicated her life to caring for others. She had a fantastic sense of humor and was well versed in pulling innocent pranks on her loved ones. She loved animals, especially her beloved dog, Molly, nature and flowers. Her yard was like a park surrounded by flowers and benches where she and husband, Jerry, could take a break and enjoy a cup of coffee. Pat was a cookbook collector and derived great joy in cooking for her family. Her family always joked that she had all those cookbooks but never followed the recipes and added her own special touches.

Born on November 7, 1940 to Woodrow and Helen Bee Sigler, she spent her childhood in Doylestown, graduating from Chippewa High School in 1957. As was typical of her hardworking nature, she went back to school later in life to become an LPN and tenderly helped many patients during her career.

Nothing made Pat happier than being surrounded by her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a kind, strong, feisty woman and those traits served her well throughout her life.

Patricia leaves behind her loving, devoted husband and soul mate, Gerald Shipe, with whom she had just celebrated her fifty-second wedding anniversary on June 4th. She had three daughters, Pam Shipe of Wadsworth, Jessica (Matt) Chamberlin of Guilford Township, and Jerri (Tim) O'Connell of Medina. Pat had two grandsons, James and Daniel O'Connell, a sister. Mary Fry of Doylestown and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel 11:00 A.M with Rev. Bob Meyer officiating. Online tributes may be made at www.robertsfuneralhome.com. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
