Rex Ramsier

August 1, 1946 — September 27, 2010



Rex A. Ramsier, 64, entered into heaven after a courageous hard fought battle with liver cancer Monday September 27, 2010 at his home in Wooster. Memorial services will be Friday, October 1, 2010 at 2pm at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel with Pastor David Dake officiating. Military rites will be held following the service. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Private burial will be at Reedsburg Cemetery at a later date. Online tributes may be made at www.robertsfuneralhome.com

Rex was born to Harold and Ruth (Clark) Ramsier in Lodi on August 1, 1946. He lived in Canaan and grew up in the West Salem and Lodi areas. He attended Northwestern High School and proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force from February 1965 to February 1969. He was an Air Craft engine mechanic where he traveled many European countries. He hired on the Erie Lackawanna Railroad in 1970. He retired in 1998 due to an injury. He later worked part time for Pride of the Hills Manufacturing. He was a member of the American Legion Post 499 of West Salem where he enjoyed doing dinners and chicken bbq’s for the public. He was a member of the Nova-Ruggles Conservation Club where he participated in competition beagle trials and coon dog trials, being a Master of Hounds and show judge on occasions. He attended Lodi Congregational Church. He enjoyed going to auctions and flea markets and had previously operated an antique business. He enjoyed camping, fishing, spending time in Florida and spending time with his family. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, always looking out for the people around him. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Betty (Garver) whom he married October 22, 1999 and daughters Regina (Scott) Remington, Rexanne Ramsier (Randy Buchanan) both of West Salem, Laura Crebs, Gwen Ramsier (Elbert Lovell) both of Wooster, Juanita (Mike) Pryor of Rowsburg, step-son Chad (Chrissie) Ramsier of Burbank, grandchildren Tim (Janee) Osborn of Texas, Tiffany and Tyler Osborn, James (Cassie Cutlip) Crebs of Seville, Jami Crebs, Branden Harmon, Dakota and Zachary Pryor, Blake and Andrew Noland, Brooke and Keyera Ramsier, one great-granddaughter Dalilah Crebs, brothers and sisters Don Ramsier of Sullivan, Bob and Dottie Ramsier of Mt. Gilead, Jean Rector of Canton, Dick and Dixie Butdorf of Florida, Judy and John Lee of West Salem, Jackie Biddle of Creston, Dan Ramsier of North Carolina, Linda and Bill Grassman of Wooster, Lonnie Ramsier of West Salem, Mary and Pat Jackson of Mansfield, Darla Starling of Wooster, Denise Bosche of Sullivan, Gary and Sandra Ramsier and Jimmy Ramsier both of Colorado and dear friend Jimmy Frank of Wooster.



Rex was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Vivian Beard and Shelley Dalessandro.


IITimothy 4-7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course. I have kept the faith.
