Russell Webster

March 18, 1921 — November 10, 2013

Russell Webster, 92, of Wooster, died Sunday, November 10, 2013 at West View Healthy Living in. Services will be Wednesday at 11am at Wooster at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster with Pastors
Robert Fetterhoff and Eric Fairhurst officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster where military rites will be held. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. Russell was born March 18, 1921 in Wooster to Harry E and Charlotte {Bauer} Webster. He graduated from Wooster High School and served in the US Army during WWII in the European Theatre. He married Maxine Kutz on December 9, 1939. She died in 2010. He retired after 25 years of service as a Lieutenant for Wooster Fire Department. After retirement, Russell worked for Smith Grocery and McIntire Furniture for 25 years.
Russell was a member of Wooster Grace Brethren Church and enjoyed fishing at his cabin at O'Dell Lake, Big Prairie, golfing at the College of Wooster with his friends, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. For the last several years, he cared for the plants and delivering baked goods that his wife prepared at West View Healthy Living.
Russell will be deeply missed by his children Patricia Simms of Apple Creek and Jim (Cindy) Webster of Orrville; grandchildren Scott (Cathy) Simms Mark (Mindy) Simms, Jeff (Krista) Simms, Katie Webster-Seal, Robb Webster, Erin (Peter) Downman, nine great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law Kenneth Kutz.
Russell was preceded in death by his wife Maxine, sons David, Donald, Daniel, and John Paul Webster; and son-in-law Marlin Simms and a sister Mildred Wengerd.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to the staff at West View Healthy Living, including his granddaughter-in-law Mindy Simms.
