Thomas W. Bigham, 67, of Nova, passed away Friday, August 05, 2011 at FisherTitus Medical Center.
Tom was born September 2, 1943 in Gadsden, Alabama to James C. and Lillian B. (Burdette) Bigham.
He graduated from Emma Sansom High School in 1962.He married the love of his life Judith Toth on November 21, 1978.Tom was a high school band director, in Alabama, for over 17 years.He ‘built’ the music program at several rural high schools in northern Alabama.Tom was an accomplished clarinetist and saxophonist until illness made it too painful to play.As a young man, he had his own Dance Band.Tom served in the 313

Army Reserve Band in Hoover, Al., in the woodwind section and as an Assistant Band Director for 11 years.After moving to Ohio in 1984, Tom and his family resided in Elyria until moving to an 18 acre farm in Nova.He was a tour and charter bus driver retiring in 2001 after suffering a massive heart attack in 2001.
Tom will be deeply missed by his wife of 32 years, Judith, his son Robert Eric (Marissa) of Haltom City, Tx, a grandson Jacob Thomas, and a brother; James (Martha) Bigham of Rainbow City, Ala.He will be greatly missed by all those who attended the herding events at the farm.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Hazel and his brother Guy.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 11 am at Our Lady Help of Christians Parish in Nova with Father Ron Bryda officiating.Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park.Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 7 p at the Roberts Funeral Home, Ashland Chapel.Online tributes may be made at
