Vera Smith

Vera Arlene Smith, 95, of Wadsworth, died Wednesday, March 25 at Autumnwood Nursing Center in Rittman. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 28 at 2:00 P. M. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Wadsworth with pastor Keith Hejnal officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 1-2 P.M.

Vera was born December 1, 1913 in Clinton, Ohio to Israel Melvin and Gertie (Spangler) Frase. She married Rollin Smith in March of 1934. She was a homemaker, a member of Mt. Zwingli United Church of Christ and worked for the Red Cross for over 30 years. Vera was a gray lady at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital for over 30 years, a member of the Home Economics Club and a crossing guard for Wadsworth City Schools.

She will be deeply missed by her children Carson (Carolyn) Smith, Thomas Smith, and Rex Smith all of Wadsworth, and Justine (Dan) Brewer of Berrien Springs, MI, 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and sisters Bernice Lehman of Wadsworth, and Laverne Zarle of Akron. She was preceded by her husband Rollin in August of 1978 and a brother Virgil Frase.
