Wayne Smith

Wayne “Pap” Randall Smith, 87, of Seville, passed away Thursday, September 16 at Hospice of Medina County. He was born March 14, 1923 in Grampian, PA to Ambrose and Fredda (Rowles) Smith. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during WWII and survived Iwo Jima. Wayne married Lucy Irene Biddulph on July 4, 1942. He was a member of IBEW Local 38, Medina Eagles 2224, and VFW 387. He was loved by many, and had a great sense of humor. Wayne provided love and mentoring for children, was very generous, an avid fisherman, hunter, pinochle and domino player.



Wayne will be deeply missed by children Shirley Ann (Ken) Dusky of Romeo, MI, Randy (Christine) Smith of North Ridgeville, OH and Rhea (Jim) Yannayon of Seville, OH; grandchildren Jim (Lori) and Todd Dusky, Randa (Dean) Bolton, Robert (Aimee) Smith and Jamie and John Hootman; great grandchildren Deanna and Scott Myers and Abby and Carter Smith, great-great grandchildren Lexi Haggerty, Angelina and Aydan Myers and his sister Mary Lou Fetchko of Warren, OH. Wayne was preceded in death by his wife Lucy Irene on October 6, 2002 and brothers Alton Dane and Bud.



Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:30 at The Church At The Lake United Methodist Church, 7824 Lake Road, Chippewa Lake, OH with Pastor John Lawrence officiating. Burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery where military rites will be held following the service. Friends may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Seville. Memorial contributions may be made to Medina Eagles Children Party Fund 696 Lafayette Road, Medina, OH 44256.
