Bill was born on December 10, 1922 in Savannah, the son of John Leland and Anna (Wilson) Farquharson.He retired from Ohio Edison in 1984, after 33 years of service.He served in the United States Army during World War II with the 2487 Quarter Master Truck Co. in Europe attached to the 8

Air Force hauling supplies from February 1943 to November 1945.Bill married Marilyn J. Fulwider on November 14, 1949.She preceded him in death on December 31, 2011.He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.Bill was a member of Christ United Methodist Church for 55 years where he served in many capacities.
He is survived by, his son, Lee (Linda) Farquharson of Fredericksburg, Virginia and his daughter Lori (Fred) Gottfried of Jeromesville.He is also survived by six grandchildren, Christina (Jacob) Clemens, Steven Walters, Michael Walters, Jennifer Gottfried, Brian Gottfried, and Matthew Gottfried.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by: his brother, Robert Farquharson in 1982 and his sister Jean Miller in April 2011..
Private services will be held.In lieu of flowers, friends may send donations to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Interment will be at Ashland County Memorial Park
