William Purvis

William R. Purvis, 58, of Wooster, died Monday, January 23, 2012 at his residence with his family by his side.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 am at the Roberts Funeral Home – Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Burial will be at East Union Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. William was born June 6, 1953 in Northern Ireland to Archer and Eileen {Tumelty} Purvis. He married Karen Sigler on November 2, 2008. She survives.

He graduated in 1971 from Wooster High School and attended Carpenter’s school in Cleveland. He spent his work career in construction in the eastern and southern states; and worked with his father in housing and remodeling. He loved working on hardware installation and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and reading. He was kind and generous and will be missed by his family and friends. He was baptized in the Church of Ireland and confirmed in St. James Episcopal Church in Wooster.

William will be deeply missed by his wife Karen; children Eileen Rose Purvis and Cody Archer Purvis; grandson Karmon Moore; parents of Wooster; brothers David C. (Mary) Purvis of Wooster; sister Juanita (Al) Capell of Grafton; 2 nieces and 4 nephews.
