William Watts

March 13, 1936 — January 20, 2006

William "Bill" A. Watts Jr., 69 of Rittman, died Friday, January 20, 2006 at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer with his loved ones by his side. God took another angel home. ?Services will be Tuesday at 11am at the Roberts Funeral Home - Sherwood Chapel, 7067 Cleveland Rd., Wooster with the Rev. John Castle officiating. ?Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster where military rites will be held. ?Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 pm and 1 hour prior to the services Tuesday at the funeral home. ?Online tributes may be made at www.robertsfuneralhome.com. ?Memorial contributions may be made to the Rittman Community Freewill Baptist Church, c/o building fund, 64 S. Main St., Rittman, Ohio 44270 or Wadsworth Rittman Hospice, 102 S. Main St. Suite 302, Wadsworth, Ohio 44281.

Bill was born March 13, 1936 in Huntington, WV to William A. and Zintka {Sullivan} Watts, Sr. He is survived by his loving companion and wife of 47 years Betty Jean Collins Watts. ?He attended West Junior High in Huntington, W.V. and served in the US Air Force from 1954 to 1957. ?Junior moved to Rittman in 1959 and worked 35 years at PCA in Rittman.

He was a member of the Rittman Community Freewill Baptist Church. ?Bill was also a member of the VFW Rittman Post 1610, Rittman Loyal Order of Moose and the Wadsworth Eagles Aerie # 2117. ?He was an avid CB enthusiast where he was known by the handle "Snake". ?He also enjoyed country western dancing and his outdoor wood burner. ?He truly enjoyed life and his family.

He will be deeply missed by his wife; children Janet Lynne (Johnny) Thornton of London, England, Robert (Victoria) Thomasson of Camden, NY, Tawnya Gayle (Wolf) Pack-Blankenship of Honolulu, HI, Steven Jay Watts of Wooster; grandchildren Aaron Freeman, Tim Pack, James ?(Emily) Pack , Amanda Pack, Steven Kurtis & Felisha Watts, Heather (Anthony) Van Zile, Ron (Maureen) Halliwell, Julie LaBrie, David (Kim) Thornton, Vicky (Charlie) Thornton; 14 great- grandchildren; brother James (Nancy) Watts of Huntington, WV; sisters Dora Carey of Rittman, Eloise (Bob) LaMar of Toledo; special friends Melvin and Bonnie Britton and their son Mark all of Rittman.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, son Richard Paul Watts, sisters Toka Hatfield, Cassie Gissel, Margie Grove, Clara Jewell and dear friend Robert Lee Fielder.
