Andree G. Hadler, 89, of Lowell, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2026 surrounded by her family

Known lovingly to many of her friends as "Frenchie," was born on October 24, 1936, in Châteauroux, France, to Aimée Champion and André Champion. Her father, André, was killed during World War II while fighting the German forces before she had the opportunity to know him. 

During the war, as a young child living in occupied France, she was taken into custody by the Gestapo but was later released through the efforts of her uncle. 

As a young woman, she was studying to become a nun when she met Kenneth R. Miller, an American serviceman. They were married in Paris, France, before moving to the United States. 

She became a United States citizen in 1962, an accomplishment she was very proud of. She was very close to her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mary and Charles Miller, and cherished the bond they shared. 

She was the mother of Patrick, Angela, Chris, Daniel, and Kenny. She also carried in her heart the memory of her daughter, Patricia, who passed away two days after birth. 

In 1993, she married Walt Hadler, and they shared 13 happy years together until his passing in 2006. 

She enjoyed knitting, tending to her flowers, bowling, and playing bingo with family and friends. She was an avid reader, especially of James Patterson novels, and loved spending time with her special cat, Sassafrass. 

Those who knew her remember her as a wonderful person whose kindness knew no bounds. She was sweet, funny, and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who asked. Her warmth, generosity, and sense of humor brightened the lives of family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers. She had a gift for making people feel welcome, cared for, and loved. 

She is survived by her children, Pat (Mona), Angela (Michael), Chris (Tonya), Daniel (Vickie), and Kenny (Rachel); her grandchildren, Aimee, Eric, Kayla, Sierra, Brian, Stephen, Skylar, Cody, and Kathleen; and her 12 great-grandchildren. 

Frenchie will be remembered for her kind heart, her generous spirit, and the love she gave so freely. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. 

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 9, 2026 from 4 to 6 PM at Roberts Funeral Home, 27880 St. Rt. 7, Marietta. Funeral Service will follow at 6 PM. Online tributes may be made at www.robertsfuneralhome.com
