Barbara Lynn Gottschling

Barbara Lynn Gottschling, 70, of Howard, OH, passed away Monday, July 13, 2026, at OSU Wexner Center, in Columbus, OH.

Barbara was born November 1, 1955, in Elyria, OH to Warren Eugene and Evelyn Kathryn {Jabbusch} Hollis. Barbara graduated from Elyria High School in 1973 and then attended Cosmetology school.  She married Steve Gottschling on August 27, 1977. She worked in Bay Beauty Shop in Bay Village for about 35 years until she retired. Steve and Barbara then moved to Victor Idaho (near Jackson Hole, WY), where they ran a Bed and Breakfast for several years together. They returned to the Mount Vernon area, built a home and worked for Cricket’s Antiques as partners in their love of antiques. She loved horses and 4H and her daughter joined her in that love as an advisor for Lorain county.

Barbara will be deeply missed by her husband Steve; children Adam Gottschling and Emily (Jeff) Schnall; grandchildren Vaughn and Piper; brothers Bruce (Debbie) Hollis and Scott (Debbie) Hollis.  Barbara was preceded in death by her parents.
