Barbara Jean Sattler

Barbara Jean Sattler, 86, of Wooster passed away Thursday, April 30, 2026. Barbara was born January 31, 1940, in Cleveland to Lawrence and Anna (Koenig) Auw. She married Frank Sattler on October 20, 1962, he survives.

For more than 30 years, Barbara’s profession was medical transcription. She worked for doctors in private practices and hospitals. In 2005, she retired after working at Wooster Community Hospital for 20 years. She was a member of Wooster United Methodist Church. She enjoyed volunteering and spending time with her friends in the Mary Martha Circle.

Since childhood Barbara was a loyal Cleveland baseball fan. Her knowledge of the game was extensive. Every spring brought her hope for a winning season. Many beautiful blankets, scarves, hats and mittens were knitted by Barb for family and friends. She often donated blankets as special gifts for those in need.

Barbara will be deeply missed by her husband Frank, children Jill (Greg) Riegel of Northfield and Amy (Jay) Miles of Brunswick, 6 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and sister Marilyn Kuhn.

A private ceremony and burial will take place at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.  Memorial contributions may be made to Wooster United Methodist Church, 243 N. Market St., Wooster, Ohio 44691.
