Betty J. Keener

Betty Jane Keener, 78, of Ashland, died Thursday, December 15, 2022 at her residence.

Betty was born July 21, 1944 in Dover, Ohio to Charles and Wilma {Wilder} Yenni.

She graduated from Mapleton High School in 1963.

She married Daniel Keener on August 10, 1963. He survies.

Betty worked for C.E. Wards of New London before taking time off work to raise her children. When the kids where old enough she went back to work as a Home Health Aid from 1996 and then Savannah Lake Kennels until her retirement in 2006. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and Emmanuel Baptist Church. She enjoyed her plants, cooking, sewing and spending time with her family. She was a cancer survivor for over 22 years.

Betty will be deeply missed by her husband of 59 years; children Michael Keener of Mansfield, Lori (Jack) Sheaffer of Ashland, Daniel Robert Keener of Mansfield, Karen (Scott) Moreland of Wooster; grandchildren Amanda, Christie, Jenifer, Ashley, Alisha, Clay, Olivia; great-grandchildren Steven, Josiah, Gideon, Evelyn; sister Barbara Shilling.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, and brother.

Private services will be held at Ashland County Memorial Park.
