Blayney Anderson Hull

Blayney Anderson Hull, 97, passed away Monday, August 11, 2025 in Lakeland, Florida. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 9, 1927, a daughter of the late Helen Blayney Stubbs and Merrill Stubbs. She will be buried at East Lawn Memorial Park, Marietta, Ohio, August 23, 2025, 11:00a.m. Prior to college, Blayney worked as a ranch hand at their family owned, A-Bar-A Ranch, in Wyoming. She attended Bennington College in Vermont and later worked as a stewardess for Continental Airlines. She married John Bowler Hull, June 26, 1950 in Denver, Colorado. Blayney was a loving housewife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her family dearly. She valued education and traveled extensively with her husband and family. She loved to sew, knit and made baby bibs for all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Blayney also loved growing flowers and being active in the local garden club.

In 2013, she moved from Virginia to Lakeland, Florida to be closer to her son and family. Blayney was an avid walker who enjoyed interacting with neighbors and friends while observing the diverse wildlife in the surrounding lakes. When she was able, she attended All Saints’ Episcopal Church, Lakeland, FL. Her last few years were spent with four dedicated caregivers and visiting family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her younger sister, Jill Bradburn, her adopted father, Andrew Anderson, and her husband, John Bowler Hull. She is survived by her brother, Michael Stubbs,(Ronnie) a step-brother, Andrew Anderson and her children John, (Liane) Hull, Katherine (Geoffrey) Adkisson, and Diane(Dick) Viall III; grandchildren, John (Laura) Hull, Jocelyn(Scott) Nudel, Kristen Hull, Spencer (Kathleen) Adkisson, Pearce (Patricia) Hammond, Dale (Sam) Bowers, Delia (Piotr) Zielinski; great-grandchildren, Zoe and Riley Hull, Nathan and Ella Nudel, Brandon Adkisson, Carolyn(Garrett) McNamara, Margaret Hammond, Jessie (Blake) Whitney, Emily Bowers.

She will be dearly missed.
