Bonnie Kay Carpenter

Bonnie Kay Carpenter, 82, of Wooster passed away Monday, January 12, 2026 at her home with her family by her side.

Bonnie was born September 1, 1943 in Akron, Ohio to Walter and Helen {McGinn} Hughes. She graduated from Northwest High School in Canal Fulton.

Bonnie married Roger Ammon in 1961, together they were blessed with 3 beautiful daughters; Darla, Christine, and Rebecca Leah.

She married a wonderful, kind, loving man - Archie Carpenter on June 28, 1980, and he went to Heaven in 1997. Bonnie met her loving companion Carl Daugherty again in 2006.

Bonnie was “born again” as a teenager – and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior who died on the Cross as the Ultimate Sacrifice to cover her sins. He knew she couldn’t live the perfect life, and she certainly didn’t. Bonnie had confidence that He covered her sins with His shed blood, throughout her life: John 5:24 and Romans 8:30 – 39.

She wants to say thank you to all the people who helped her along her journey. Those who loved her, assisted her, cared for her, laughed with her and taught her things so that she could have a joyful, wonderful, and happy life. She was blessed beyond measure by knowing all of you, that is what made her life worthwhile.

Bonnie will be survived by her loving companion Carl Daugherty, daughters Darla (Mike) Williamson, Christine (Andrew) Ragusa all of Wooster; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and sister Carol (Jim) Followay.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her daughter Leah Townsend, husband Archie Carpenter, brothers Ed Hughes, Ted Hughes, Bob Hughes, sister Jeanette Davis, and her parents.

Funeral services will be Friday January 16 at 3 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster (and livestreamed at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com/obituaries/Bonnie-Carpenter) with Pastor Eric Fairhurst officiating.
