C. Dean Boley

C. Dean Boley, 89, of Shreve, died Friday, May 3, 2024, at Wooster Hospital surrounded by his family.

Dean was born October 3, 1934, in Apple Creek, Ohio to the late John and Geneva {Gordon} Boley.

He proudly served as a Private First Class in the U.S. Army and was Honorably Discharged in 1958.

He married Imogene “Jean” Miller on December 31, 1958. They shared 63 loving years together before her passing in 2022.

Dean was a Crane Operator for Wooster Iron and Metal for many years before his retirement. During his retirement he worked at Moore’s Lawn and Garden in Millersburg as a Service Technician. He previously attended the Highland Avenue Church of God. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, Fishing, Gardening, Mushroom Hunting, attending Tractor pulls and Farming.

Dean will be deeply missed by his daughters, Donna Derby of Shreve, and Kathy (Chris) Hanna also of Shreve; grandchildren, Gary Dean Derby, Nikole, Kyle and Erik (Abby) Hanna all of Shreve; great-granddaughter, Ryleigh Marie Derby; brother Robert (Janette) Boley of Shreve; sister Reva Stetler of Florida.

In addition to his parents and wife, Dean was preceded in death by Brothers Billy, Jack, Tom, Carl, Jake, Pete, John Jr.; Sisters Ella, Pauline, Eve.

Friends may call Wednesday May 8, 2024 from 12-1 at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home (and livestreamed at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com/obituaries/C-Dean-Boley) with his niece Pastor Kim Newton officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. The family would like to especially thank Dr. Eric Turney and his physician assistant Allison Hahn for the kindness they showed to Dean and his family and they would also like to thank the WCH ICU department.
