Carolyn Louise Polk, 84, formerly of Whipple, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
Carolyn was born February 28, 1941 in Newcomerstown to John F. and Audrey J.{Eckelberry} Duff.
She was a 1959 graduate of Newcomerstown High School.
She married Thomas I. Polk on May 16, 1959 in a romantic prom night elopement.
Carolyn spent her lifetime nurturing, supporting and guiding her children and grandchildren. She was an avid team mom for her children’s activities. Carolyn spent a lifetime of Mondays with “The Girls.” She was active in a variety of community service groups over the years. The walls of many homes are adorned with Carolyn’s cross stitch creations.
Carolyn will be deeply missed by her children Mark Polk, Lorrie Polk, Kari (Steven) Snyder, Michael Polk, Neil (Melissa) Polk, Debby (Larry) Pettit and Angela (Scott) Kidder; 12 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sisters Evelyn Davis and Diana (Lloyd) Booth; and multiple nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband Tom Polk; brothers-in-law John Davis and Victor Polk.
Friends may call Wednesday, June 25th from 5 to 8 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-East Lawn Chapel, 27880 St. Rt. 7, Marietta. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Park.
