Catherine Korecky

Catherine F. Korecky, age 90, passed away on September 3, 2026.

Born on March 6, 1936, in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, Catherine was the daughter of Stephen and Nancy (Leichliter) Crevda. She married the love of her life, Donald Korecky, on June 21, 1975, and together they shared many wonderful years.

Cathy worked as a banker for more than 25 years before retiring in 1983. She was known for her kindness, her steady work ethic, and the friendships she built throughout her career.

Above all else, Cathy cherished her family. Her greatest joy came from her precious great‑grandchildren, whose laughter and energy brought light into her days. Time with them was her most treasured gift.

She also enjoyed gardening, classic country music, and spending time with her dear friends Barbara and Linda at HarborChase Assisted Living in Rock Hill, SC. Cathy loved listening to her favorite piano player, Patrick Hudson, and found comfort in the simple pleasures of friendship and music.

Her favorite place to visit was Colorado, where she and her husband Don enjoyed hiking and taking in the beauty of the outdoors.

Catherine will be deeply missed by her daughter Cynthia (Craig) Pasquale of York, SC; her stepchildren Laurel (Richard, late) Eberhard of Mayfield Heights, Ohio, and Dale (Cindy) Korecky of Brunswick, Ohio; her grandchildren Jennifer (Dan) Brammer, Ashley (Nate) Phillips, and Ryan (Tori) Korecky; and her great‑grandchildren Benji Brammer, Luke Brammer, and Emersyn Korecky. She is also survived by her sister Shirley Gachet; nieces Debbie Hedrick and Cheryl Hedrick; and nephews Stephen Crevda and Johnny Hedrick.

Catherine was preceded in death by her son Joey Yeardie, her husband Donald, her brother Stephen (Ronnie) Crevda, and her parents.

Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
