David "Dave" Robert Boldman

David (Dave) Robert Boldman, age 66, of Canal Winchester, Ohio – formerly Wooster, Ohio – passed away in the morning of February 4, 2023 at home after a four year heroic battle with cancer.

Dave was born on July 21, 1956 in Wooster, Ohio to James and Eva (Purdy) Boldman. He graduated from Smithville High School in 1974. Marrying Debra (Deb) Mayberry on October 24, 1981, they celebrated more than 41 years of marriage and memories together.

Dave was in the home building business for thirty years, most recently as a general manager for Schumacher Homes. He first learned the trade while building a home on his own for his wife and daughters. Dave was past president of the Wayne-Holmes Browns Backers. He loved all things outdoors—especially hunting, where his pursuit of turkeys earned him the nickname “Two Beard”; fishing; boating; and golfing. “The Bold Man” also enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle; woodworking; reading fantasy novels; cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes; listening to music, especially Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon; and above all, spending time with his family. He valued hard work as much as a good time.

Dave will be deeply missed by his wife, Deb; daughters Amanda (Daren) Gaskill and Jenna (Toby) Lichtle; grandjoys Cameron Gaskill, Jude Boldman Lichtle, and Oskar Lichtle; father James (Sharon) Boldman; brother Rick Boldman; sister Cathy (Larry) Greene; sister-in-law Peg Boldman.

Dave was preceded in death by his mother Eve Boldman; in-laws Clyde and Ruth Mayberry;  brother Mike Boldman; sister-in-law Janet Boldman.

His family will hold a celebration of Dave’s life on Sunday, February 12, 2023, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., followed by a service at 2:30 p.m., at Roberts Funeral Home, 7067 Cleveland Rd, Wooster, Ohio. Online tributes may be made at RobertsFuneralHome.com.
