David Wetmore

April 11, 1926 — March 14, 2022

David  E. Wetmore, 95, of Smithville, died Monday, March 14, 2022 at home surrounded by his family.

David was born April 11, 1926 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio to Irving and Alta{Leach} Wetmore.

David had proudly served in the United States Army during World War II from 1944 to 1946.

He married Betty Knotts. She passed October of 1992.

David was a lifelong Dairy Farmer. He was a member of Life Ministries of Rittman. David enjoyed spending his time gardening, selling the sweet corn he grew every year. He was also a lifelong Indians fan and loved telling everyone about watching Babe Ruth hit his 100th home run.

David will be deeply missed by his children Arthur Wetmore, Roy Knotts, Mary Knotts; grandchildren Cory, Rodney, Amy, Kelley Knotts, Dee (Kevin) Keaton, Grace Wetmore, Mary, Betty Barth, Tammy Sansing, Donny Slider, and JD Hallahan; many great-grandchildren.

David was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty, son David W., and brother Glenn Wetmore.

Friends may call Saturday from 11 to 12 p.m. at Life Ministries. Services will follow at 12 p.m at the church with Pastor Ed Nichols officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens on 9560 Acme Rd Seville OH 44273, where military rites will be held. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
