Edith Carol Speegle

Edith Carol Speegle, 78, of Akron, passed away August 15, 2026.

Edith was born November 14, 1947 in Akron, Ohio to Alvin and Hazel {Woolum} Scaggs.

She married Richard Speegle on April 21, 1965.

Edith worked at the Apple Creek Developmental Center as a Rehab Aide for over 30 years. She attended Greensburg Church of God. Edith loved sewing and quilting and sitting out on the porch with her husband, and any time she could spend with any family, especially her grandkids. She loved travelling to Georgia to see her son. Edith loved the beach and animals.

Edith was preceded in death by her parents, sons Timothy and Shawn Speegle, brothers Bobby, Steve, and Wayne.

Edith will be deeply missed by her husband Richard; sister Diane Sartin and husband Tom; brother-in-law Jim and Sam Speegle; children Kevin Gene (Jennifer) Speegle, William (Lily) Speegle, and Peyton Jackson-Speegle; daughter-in-law Dawn Speegle; 13 grandchildren Tesla Skye Speegle, Cyndi Seichko and husband Taylor, Jessica Barkow, Tiffany Speegle, Brittany Speegle, Nicholas Speegle, Catherine Speegle, Kallie Speegle, Gillian Speegle, Korensa Pickelsimer, Morgan Trainer, Raelynn Speegle, and Dakota Speegle; 24 great-grandchildren and 1 new blessed great-granddaughter Avrilee Dawn.

Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home (and livestreamed at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com/obituaries/Edith-Speegle) with Pastor Bruce Wells officiating.
