Edward Leo McQuillan, 64, formerly of Struthers, Ohio, passed away after a long illness on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Heather Knoll Nursing and Rehabilitation, in Tallmadge, Ohio.
Edward was born on September 14, 1960, in Youngstown, Ohio to Lawrence and Gertrude {McGraw} McQuillan. He graduated from Cardinal Mooney in 1979 and graduated from Youngstown State University with an Associate’s degree in Business Administration in 1982.
Edward retired as a Staff Seargent after his 22 years of service in the United States Army. He received many medals and honors throughout his career; he was very proud to serve his country. Edward loved to fish, hunt, and ride bicycles. He enjoyed collecting trains and coins. Edward was an avid stock trader and student of the market.
Edward will be deeply missed by his brother Lawrence (Patricia) McQuillan and sister Joyce (Timothy) Nye; nieces Shannon (William) Walker, Kelly (Eric) Sutherland; nephew Brian (Stephanie) Nye; nephews Sean (Deborah) Ring, Christopher (Morgan) Ring, Kevin Ring; niece Meghan (Devin Hickman) Ring; nephew Ryan (Molly) McQuillan and 13 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents and sister Ellen Ring Adler.
Friends may call Tuesday, September 16, 2025 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady Help Christian Parish Catholic Church, 60 High St. Seville, OH 44273. Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the church (and livestreamed at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com/obituaries/Edward-McQuillan) with Father Edward Susyznski officiating. Burial will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, where military honors will be held. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
