Faye I. Lingle, 84, of Smithville, passed away Monday, June 15, 2026, at the Apostolic Christian Home in Rittman.
Faye was born July 27, 1941, at her home in Smithville to Roy and Marjorie (Shisler) Emerling. She was a 1959 graduate of Wooster High School.
She married Larry Lingle on April 4, 1964, and they shared 54 years of marriage until his passing on July 22, 2018.
Faye was a devoted homemaker who loved working puzzles, reading, collecting salt and pepper shakers, eating out, and, most importantly, spending time with her family.
Faye will be deeply missed by her children, Don Lingle, Ken (fiancé Stephanie Berry Estep) Lingle, and Connie (Sam) Sutton, all of Smithville; her granddaughter; sisters Julie (Virgil) Brubaker, Ruth Morgan, and Betty (Charlie) Booth; her brother, Chuck (Sharon) Emerling; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Lingle and a sister Dorothy Kennedy.
Friends may call Wednesday, June 17 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. the funeral home with Pastor Art Carr of Smithville Brethren Church officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
