Gary Eugene Hinkle

Gary E. Hinkle, 73 of Navarre, formerly of Wooster, passed away August 2, 2026.

Gary was born January 22, 1953, in Mansfield to Earl and Ora {Crum} Hinkle.

In 1971, he graduated from Orrville High School through the Wayne County Schools Career Center, where he earned the Governor’s award for welding.

Gary was a security guard at the Village Network, then was a computer repairman. He enjoyed photography and was a magnificent storyteller and was a published author.

Gary will be deeply missed by his brother Ken (Judy) Hinkle of Marshallville and sister Linda (Randy) Marshall of Apple Creek; nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; lifelong friends John Rittenhouse and Lisa Shingleton.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents.

Roberts Funeral Home – Sherwood Chapel, Wooster is assisting with arrangements. Inurnment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
