Glen Walter Price, 58, of Mount Vernon, OH, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2026, at home surrounded by his family, in Mount Vernon. Glen was born January 29, 1968 in Mount Vernon, OH to Charles A. and Ella Jean {Shaffernocker (Bowles)} Price.
Glen graduated from Mount Vernon High School, with his last two years in telecommunications at the career center. He married Missy G. Finnell on February 21st, 2015.
Glen kept the telephones running. For fifteen years, he worked alongside Missy, installing copper ends in the tangled phone system. He took care of the ladders while she handled the pedestals. After Hurricane Katrina, they spent a rainy night together repairing phone systems. You always knew when Glen was around—the house was never quiet. He loved helping others and could fix almost anything, from electrical problems to vehicles. When he misplaced a socket, though, he counted on Kayden to find it. Glen hunted ducks, geese, and even a black bear, often using a shotgun when others used rifles. He had endless energy and could wear you out just watching him or trying to keep up. He enjoyed riding four-wheelers with his grandsons and truly loved life. He considered his grandchildren the greatest accomplishment of his life.
Glen will be deeply missed by his wife Missy; children Ashli Price; grandsons Kamryn and Kayden Gordon; parents Ella Jean Bowles of Mount Vernon, OH; brother Chris Price; sister Lynn (Wyatt) Price and Kamryn’s friend, Riley Cree and Glen’s brother from another mother, Jim (Mel) Henson. Glen was preceded in death by his father, and grandparents.
