Janet Hogg

Janet Claudette (Meeks) Hogg, 90, of Mount Vernon, OH, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Ohio Eastern Star Home, in Mount Vernon.

Janet was born April 18, 1936, in Middletown OH to Claude and Elaine {Johnson} Meeks and lived there until 1967. She married William “Bill” S. Hogg on April 26th, 1958. He passed in 2023. They moved to Mount Vernon when her husband Bill accepted a position with the Mount Vernon Chamber of Commerce.

Janet enjoyed getting people to laugh at her corny jokes, gardening, cooking and reading. Janet was a good mother to her children, making sure that they were always well cared for. The loves of her life, besides her husband Bill and sons Stephen and Brian, were her four grandsons, Joshua, Peyton, Evan, and Brandon. She cherished any time spent with them and loved them dearly.

Janet is survived by her son Brian (Susan) Hogg, Joshua Hogg, Peyton (Laura) Hogg, Evan Hogg, Brandon Hogg; nephews Tim Meeks, Jack (Charlene) Kiniyalocts, George (Brenda) Kiniyalocts, Tom Kiniyalocts and David Rodefer; nieces Beth Ann Thompson and Becky White. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband William, son Stephen, sisters Sue Ann, Nancy, Phyllis, Mary, and Diane Meeks; brothers Paul and Richard (Dickie) Meeks and nephew Mike Kiniyalocts.

Per her request there will be no visitation. A private family ceremony will be held at a later date.
