Jerry Dean Chance, 84, of Ashland, died July 4, 2025 at UH Samaritan Medical Center, in Ashland.
Jerry was born March 3, 1941 in Ashland to Alva and Gladys {Schuck} Chance.
Jerry served in the United States Navy.
He married Beverly Foreman on July 28, 1967.
Jerry retired from National Pride after many years. He was a member of Grace Brethren Church in Ashland. Jerry loved model trains and he had an M&M collection. He loved spending time with his grandkids, and he always took home videos to remember family events.
Jerry will be deeply missed by his children Vicky (Mike) Boyer, Leslie Walz, and Bryan (Roberta) Chance; grandchildren Andy (Missy) Nell, Michael (Jen) Walz, Holly (Keegan) Lantz, Nathaniel (Danielle) Chance, Matthew (Brianna) Walz, Danielle (Trevor) Shymske, and Gabrielle Chance; great-grandchildren Hayley, Kurtis, Ashley, Justice, Jerilyn, Owen, Adrianna, Giavanna, Oakley, and Olivia; and nephew Michael Gongwer.
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Beverly, his parents, great-grandson Bradley Boyer, and his siblings Robert, Betty, and JoAnn.
Friends may visit Wednesday July 9 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel. Funeral services will be Thursday July 10 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home (and livestreamed at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com/obituaries/Jerry-Chance). Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park, where military rites will be held. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
