Joyce Elaine Shelton

Joyce Elaine Shelton, 76, of Wooster, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026.

Joyce was born July 10, 1949, in Wooster to John Wenger and Naomi Florence {Imhoff} Eberly.

Joyce worked as an RN in nursing, and when she wasn’t caring for residents at work, she cared for elderly in the area. She was a member of Mohican Church and enjoyed assisting at Inspiration Hills campground. Joyce valued her faith in Jesus Christ more than anything else. Her son and grandchildren were her greatest joy, and purpose in life. Joyce will be deeply missed by her granddaughters Emily (Tyler) Flinn, Lindsey (Greg) Hill, Cortney (Josh) Ott and their mother, Bobbie Shelton, Gracie Shelton, and Sammy Shelton; step granddaughters Jennifer (Alex) Bennett and Candice Talbot; great grandchildren Breanna, Larissa, and Vanessa Flinn, and Elijah Ott; brothers, Roger (Miriam) Eberly of North Manchester, Indiana, Daniel (Becky) Eberly of Wooster, and Duane Eberly of Wooster; sisters Janice (Robert) Jentes of Wooster, Susan (Steven) Abe of Clarksburg, West Virginia, and Florence (Keith) Ramer of Dalton; and daughter-in-law Cheryl Shelton of Millersburg.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, son William, and brother Elam Eberly.

Friends may call Friday, June 5 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Mohican Church. Services will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Paul Bartholomew officiating.
