Larry Shields

Larry C. Shields, 75, of Wooster, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Wooster Community Hospital.

Larry was born July 19, 1950, in Wooster, Ohio to Clay and Faye {Courtney} Shields.

He married Helen Arnold on March 20, 1993; she survives.

Larry was the head of maintenance at the Gerstenslager Company for many years. He loved woodworking, his Harley and his dogs. Larry enjoyed camping with his wife and grandson. He loved to teach people new things; he never met a stranger.

Larry will be deeply missed by his wife, children Aaron (Misty) Shields and Tara (Tim) Vaughan; grandchildren Seth Shields, Ben Vaughan, Claire Vaughan, and Lauren Vaughan; great-grandchildren Sophia-Grace, Emma, Lincoln, and Maysen Shields; brothers Marcus Shields and Jon Shields, both of Wooster.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call Thursday, April 30, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. A private family service will be held at the funeral home.
