Lloyd J. Becker, 93, of Wooster, died Thursday, February 13, 2014 at West View Healthy Living, in Wooster.
Friends may call Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Arnie Kaufman officiating. Lloyd was born July 12, 1920 in Wooster, Ohio to Otto and Grace {Swartz} Becker.
He attended The University of Vermont. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He received a Purple Heart.
He married Mary Jane Shisler on June 10, 1943. She passed away on February 3, 1983. On June 2, 1988, Lloyd married Cora Smith. She passed away on November 27, 2011.
He retired from Akron Brass after 46 years. He was a member of First Church of God. He was a member of Lions Club, enjoyed traveling, vacationing in Arizona, golfing, fishing, and playing cards.
Lloyd will be deeply missed by his children Thomas (Tina Blust) Becker of Columbus and Jo Ann (Scott) Holmes of Wooster; grandchildren Jason Becker and Aaron and Chris Holmes; great-granddaughter Kenzie Becker; sister Norma (Merv) Jensen of Orrville.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife Mary Jane of 40 years, and brother Harold Becker.
