Lonnie Hart

Lonnie Ernest Hart, 79, of Big Prairie, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Ohio's Hospice LifeCare.

Lonnie was born May 29, 1946, in Coshocton to Lawrence and Lucille {Phillips} Hart.

Lonnie proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He married Linda Donaldson on May 19, 1966; she survives.

Lonnie worked at the Veterans Administration as a commissioner

in Millersburg for over 45 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather “Pa Pa”. Lonnie enjoyed building classic cars and going to car shows. He loved his Thunderbirds; he rebuilt ’55 and a ’57 from scratch with his son Chris. Lonnie would go out of his way for all the veterans he would come across.

Lonnie will be deeply missed by his wife; children Melissa (Ryan), Christopher, Michelle (Rod), and Jennifer (Jason); grandchildren Lauren, Elise, Michael, Cullen, Keaton, Quinn, Natalie, Kendall, Jake, Memphis, Davanee, Aryalin; great-grandchildren Rosemary, Lainey, Selena; and brother Gregory Hart.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents.
