Mary Elizabeth Taylor, 93, of Wooster, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2026, at West View Healthy Living.

Mary was born August 15, 1932, in Duck, West Virginia to Samuel Vinyard and Dorothy Virginia {Lyons} Metheney.

She married Clifton Owens Taylor on September 3, 1955.

Mary worked for Richey Industries in Medina for many years before retiring there. Mary was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved gardening, sewing and cooking for her family. She was loving and kind to everyone. Mary had a strong faith in God and she loved reading her Bible and singing hymns. She loved spending time with family and friends. Mary was known for her homemade biscuits which no one could duplicate.

Mary will forever be missed and remembered by her children Elizabeth (Lars) Johnson and Paul (Denise) Taylor; granddaughter Lisa (David) Mathers; step-granddaughter Brittany (Jason) Bruce; great-grandchildren Dylan, Cami and Taylor; step-great-grandchildren Aaron and Piper; and sister Genevieve.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Clifton, her parents, her grandson Joshua Taylor, her brothers Chaney, Dayton, David, Dorcel, and sisters Etta, Letty, Icie.

A private service will be held at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
