Mary Ann McMichael-Bonewit

February 12, 1947 — July 27, 2023

Wooster

Mary Ann McMichael Bonewit, age 76, of Wooster, OH entered the arms of her Lord and Savior on July 27, 2023.

Mary Ann was the beloved daughter of Donald George and Eva Clora (Leedy) McMichael. Mary Ann was a 1965 graduate of Triway High School. She married Neal Murray on October 16, 1965, and the couple had three children: Michael (Charline) Murray of Wooster, Diana Murray of AZ, and Steven (Andee) Murray of Polk. Mary Ann married Raymond Landis (deceased) in 1981 and together the two raised their five children. In 2001, Mary Ann married her dear husband, Roger Bonewit.

Mary Ann attended a local business college and spent her working years serving others at various community businesses while raising her children. In her retirement years, she managed Roger and Mary Ann’s rental properties.

Mary Ann had a genuine zest for life and no matter what opportunity or obstacle came her way she faced it with a positive attitude. She had the most beautiful smile and singing voice and was a great cook and baker. She loved to laugh, and she was fun and adventurous. Mary Ann excelled in the role of grandparent/great-grandparent. She covered her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with as much love as she could deliver to each of them. Mary Ann was a lifelong Christian and one of her greatest joys was showering others with love and providing for them. She genuinely loved and cared about others. There are not many people who met Mary Ann who were able to walk away without a gift of some type whether it be a big hug, a furniture or clothing item, a bag of groceries – the list goes on and on. She was truly the most cheerful giver!

Mary Ann will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Roger; her siblings Robert (Connie) McMichael of Wooster, Ronald Nagoshi of Oahu, HI, James (Paula) McMichael of Wooster, Gloria Jean (David) Osterland of Wadsworth; her adoring children; 9 precious grandchildren (Michelle, Dylan, Charissa, Charles, Justin, Cory, Elizabeth, Joey, and David) and 4 great-grandchildren (Brenden, Blane, Sophia, and Ella); her beloved nieces and nephews; and countless dear friends including her lifelong friend, Dianna Fox of MI.

Mary Ann was proceeded in death by her parents and sister, Donna Westfall, and sister-in-law, Shannon Nagoshi.

The family wants to express sincere gratitude to family and friends who lovingly stepped in to support Mary Ann during her years of illness. They would also like to extend sincere appreciation to Mary Ann’s exceptional Pulmonologist, Dr. Robert Sibilia and his team; the oncology team at the Cleveland Clinic; and other quality Healthcare professionals in the community including the compassionate care team members at Crystal Care of Ashland, Brookdale Senior Living Wooster, and Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare.

Roberts Funeral Home will be assisting the family. Interment will take place at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. Mary Ann loved flowers but loved giving to others even more. If you desire an alternative, the family suggests a memorial gift to Ohio’s LifeCare Hospice or one’s favorite charity. Continuing her beautiful legacy of giving to others would delight Mary Ann.
