Mary M Polen, 92, of San Leon TX, formerly Wooster, OH, passed away Monday, April 21, 2025, in Alvin, Texas.
Mary was born on May 30, 1932, in Woodsfield, Ohio to George and Lenora {Hoff} Jackson. She was married to Harold Polen for 18 years and within a few years of their divorce moved to SC where she worked for 30 plus years from the computer center, to the Provost office, to The National Dropout Prevention Center at Clemson University, her previous work experience in Wooster was Borg Warner, Advance Drainage, Miles Production and Town & Country Restaurant.
She was quite active going to grandkids baseball games from Little League to College World Series and taking them fishing and to the beach. Her love of the outdoors never faded.
Mary will be deeply missed by her children Barb (Greg) Thompson of San Leon, TX, Bruce (Barb) Polen of Wooster and Brent (Anita) Polen of Wooster; grandchildren Garrett (Morgan) Polen, Sawyer (Cassie) Polen Candace Gordon, all of Wooster; great-grandchildren Braxley and Bennett Polen and Liam and Elliot Gordon.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, previous husband, Harold Polen, grandson Patrick Gordon. sister Clara Peoples, and nephew Alan Peoples.
Private graveside will be held at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Wooster. Roberts Funeral Home – Sherwood Chapel, Wooster is assisting with arrangements. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
