Mary F. Taylor, 99, of Wadsworth, died December 31, 2023 at the Medina Hospice Inpatient Facility.

Mary was born July 15, 1924 in Akron, Ohio to Francis and Mary {Vecter} Brown.

She graduated from Akron South High School in 1942.

She married Floyd Taylor on February 14, 1950. He died May 12, 1992.

Mary worked as an executive secretary for Goodyear Tire and Rubber from 1960 to 1991 and Firestone Tire and Rubber from 1943 to 1960.  She was a past member of the Chapel on Fir Hill in Akron. Mary enjoyed playing cards (Pickle, Spider and Solitaire), she was an animal lover, especially dogs and cats as well as raising chinchillas.  She was always taking in homeless dogs and cats. One of Mary and Floyds favorite pastime was ballroom dancing at the Sons of Herman Club and taking their family every summer to Cedar Point in Sandusky. Mary was an avid Antique Tag and Estate sales, renovating her beloved home and working in her yard.

Mary will be deeply missed by her children Carol Sue (Kevin) Tyler of Strongsville, Robert (Christine) Taylor of Columbus, Brian (Martha) Taylor of Rittman; grandchildren Kevin (Janelle) Tyler Jr., Emma, Ian and Brendan (Kaitlin) Taylor; great-grandchildren Christian, Kevin III and Westin Woodrow Tyler; sisters Patricia Anderson and Francis Brown; special friends Cheryl, Francis, Don, Hazel, Sue, David, Debbie, Shelly and Barb, lastly a special thanks to Marlene, Brenda, Ann, and Karen for your kindness compassion, love and caregiving for Mary. The family would like to thank Hospice of the Western Reserve for there are no words to describe your commitment to serving our mother’s needs.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, sisters Althea Holtz and Phyllis Wilbourne.
