Max W. Slaughter, 93, of Dalton, died August 23, 2022, at Shady Lawn.

Friends may call Friday at 12:30 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Wooster.  Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. 

Max was born May 13, 1929, in Belgrove, WV to Kenna and Martha {Stalnaker} Slaughter.

Max proudly served with the United States Army during the Korean War.

He married Shirley Janney. She died February 15, 1973. Max married Doris Daughtery on December 20, 1974. She passed January 4, 2022.

He retired from Orrville Products in 1994. Max was a member of Calvary Assembly of God in Orrville. Max enjoyed bird watching and gardening.

Max will be deeply missed by his children Cindy (David) Butler, Russel (Donna) Slaughter, Ruth (Mark) Lemon, Debbie (Joe) Dalessandro, and Mike (Jennifer) Conner; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother Eugene Slaughter; sisters Anna Lee Case, Joyce Rhodes.

Max was preceded in death by his parents, wife Doris, brothers William, Wilson, Austin, Larry Slaughter; sister Betty Taylor.
