Maxine Botkin

Maxine Redinger Botkin age 93 was born in Marshallville, OH to Ervin and Alta Moser Redinger on October 22, 1929.

She married Roger Botkin on June 1st, 1947 in Wooster, OH. Roger, a WWII veteran, passed away November 20, 2021. In 1969, they moved their family to Decatur, GA, where Maxine began working with the Cafeteria Services for Dekalb County Schools. Her specialty was baking. She retired in 1991. Upon retiring, she was able to spend more time working with flowers. Her family always came first. She was a great wife, mother, aunt, and sister. It always seemed that she could do anything. She gave her life to Christ on the same day as her husband Roger. They were baptized together and served Christ the rest of their lives.

She is survived by her children, Debra Botkin Altman and her husband Dan of Loganville GA, Kathleen Botkin Henry of Loganville, GA, James R Botkin and his wife Stephanie of Tucker, GA and Cynthia Kaye Britt and her husband Albert of Winder, GA. Grandchildren, Sara Beth (Britt) Eutsey and her husband Billy of Bethlehem, GA, AJ Britt of Stone Mountain, GA, Ethan Botkin of Tucker, GA, Nicholas Altman of Jacksonville, FL. Great Grandchildren, Charlotte and Hunter Eutsey. From a family of 11, Maxine is survived by five sisters, Arline Gordon, Alta Bucher (and Her husband Roger), Marlene Hinton, Sharon Woodruff (and her husband Paul) and Judy Repp, All of Wooster, OH.

She was pre deceased by sisters Pauline Blankenship of Wooster, OH, Delpha Haws of Lilburn, GA, Elva Leyda of Big Prairie, OH and brothers Richard Redinger of Sterling, OH and Don Redinger of Orrville.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 11:3 AM at Sherwood Memorial Gardens with Jim Botkin officiating. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting friends and family bring one flower from their garden to be placed on mom’s grave.
