Michael “Mike” Scott Gasser, of Wooster, passed away at his home on Friday, January 16, 2026. Mike was a kind, hardworking, gentle man who was a man of few words, but when he spoke, everyone listened.
Mike was born in Lodi, Ohio, to Kenneth E. Gasser and Thelma M. Keltz. He grew up on the family farm working alongside his dad and two brothers. He was a graduate of Norwayne High School and attended the Wayne County Schools Career Center.
On August 27, 1988, Mike was united in marriage to Pamela A. (Marthey) Gasser, with whom he shared a life centered on family, work, and home. They were married 37 years.
Mike spent 25 years as a meat cutter at Buehler’s. Next, he worked for Miller Custom Exteriors eventually becoming the owner and operator of Gasser Gutters. He was also a lifelong business owner of Smithville Mini Storage and Here’s the Scoop. Mike enjoyed dirt bike racing, 4-H, farming, cattle shows, snowmobiling, skiing, and making his famous homemade ice cream. He was also a loyal fan of the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Guardians. More than anything, Mike loved spending time with his family and friends.
